Nikesh Arora appeared on Hard Fork this week to navigate the intersection of AI and modern digital defense.
Kevin Roose introduced the Palo Alto Networks executive by noting his firm’s massive reach, stating: "Nikesh is the CEO and chairman of Palo Alto Networks, the largest cybersecurity firm in the world, which supports more than 70,000 customers, including the vast majority of the Fortune 100."
Beyond the corporate credentials, Arora used the platform to push back against the narrative that automation will displace the workforce. He argued that the complexity of defending against Claude Mythos and GPT-5.5 Cyber—tools his company already has early access to—will actually force a surge in the demand for highly skilled technical talent rather than a reduction in human engineering roles.
