Spotify is expanding its Verified by Spotify program to cover podcasts, a move aimed at curbing AI-generated impersonations, while simultaneously rolling out new managed account parental controls across several international markets.
The platform remains a central focus for creators looking to build audiences, with Andrew Huberman of Huberman Lab urging listeners to "follow the podcast by clicking the follow button on both Spotify and Apple." Similarly, Guy Raz on Wow in the World invited fans to "send us a comment on Spotify."
Beyond creator engagement, the platform is increasingly viewed as a functional utility. Jess Hilarious noted on The Breakfast Club that "you can still listen to it on, um, Spotify," referencing the platform's relative stability during recent music catalog deletions elsewhere. Meanwhile, Dave Ramsey of The Ramsey Show highlighted the company's pivot to multimedia, noting, "Spotify also now has video."
As Spotify prepares for its upcoming Investor Day, the podcast world is watching to see how the company balances its aggressive talent recruitment—often cited as a benchmark by Pat McAfee on The Pat McAfee Show—with the technical challenges of managing a massive, global distribution network.
